New York City is a great location to find movie premiers. There are many that are held in this area. People who are interested in attending a movie premier must first plan for it. These individuals should begin by choosing some upcoming films that they are interested in seeing. Then, they should look up information about a movie premier events each day until they find one for a film that they like. In addition, they should decide what outfit to wear to the event.

People can get tickets for the movie premier that they are interested in seeing in a few ways. They can find out about ticket giveaways for the event. Many times there will be some giveaways for the event in New York City. Even if individuals have not won tickets they can still show up at the event. There are often people that have extra tickets that they won. These individuals may be willing to part with the tickets for a lower price than at the door. Interested individuals can also simply buy tickets at the booth for the event and pay full price as long as it is not sold out. This option is easier but will be more costly as well.

New York City may not have as many big Hollywood movie premiers as Los Angeles, but it has plenty; and there are several upcoming to be excited about. One such premier is for the movie “Deadline” by director Curt Hahn. The premier will take place on Wednesday April 11 at 6:00 at Regal E-Walk Stadium 13 on West 42nd street. The movies may take place in a small southern town, but on the night of its premier will have a big city feel to it. Soon after on Monday April 16 will be the U.S. premier of Oki’s Movie, a Korean movie. This film will run for just a week and is a unique blend of documentary and narrative made up of four vignettes that come together in the end. The premier is at Maysies Cinema in Harlem. A month later on Thursday May 17 will be the premier of “The Jose Lucas Story” at the AMC Empire Movie Theater on West 42nd street. The film, which is based on a true story about a young man that grows up in Brooklyn, also goes by the title “Brooklyn Gangster”, which makes a New York City premier very fitting. These are three great movie premiers in New York City that movie fans all over the city can look forward to.What’s 1 more click?

There may be no city in the world more associated with indie movies than New York City. A tourist or resident of the city could spend hours wandering around the city looking for a cast and crew busy at work filming an indie movie. The key is to skip the running around and just know the places where you can see indie movies in New York City. Perhaps the best place to go is the Film Society of Lincoln Center, located on west 65 th street just a few blocks from Central Park. There is a full slate of great indie films every afternoon and evening at Lincoln Center and is a dream come true for indie fans. The Brooklyn Academy of Music is another great place to venture for Indie fans from all over New York. It features both Indie and foreign films, as well as work done by local filmmakers. The Angelika Film Center, located on West Houston Street around the NYU campus, is a great place for the best and most recent Indie films, and also features a lot of New York City charm. The newest location for Indie fans is the Landmark Sunshine Cinema, not far from the east village and playing some of today’s best Indie movies. All in all, there are so many great choices to go for Indie movies all over New York City, allowing New York to retain the title of Indie movie capital of the world.

Everyone takes notice of the mainstream movies, but few people venture out into the movies that are independent. There is definitely more to the movie world than all the mainstream flicks that are out there.

There are some really great independent films that are just waiting for people. Edward Burns, for example, has arrived with another great film that deals with relationships. “Newlyweds” is a great film that is really take a true look at the life of a newly married couple. It is typical Edward Burns fashion so anyone that likes his movies will certainly like this.

Another film that will tickle your funny bone is “The Heart Specialist.” This one doesn’t have a big budget, but it definitely had some good writing. A major star, Zoe Saldana, starred in this movie, but the project was nothing like Avatar. That was her breakout film, but this independent feature is just as entertaining.

Yet another movie that is really interesting in the all so entertaining “Brotherhood.” This film is action packed and there isn’t a dull moment from start to finish. It’s hard to believe that this movie has not received more press because it is really entertaining to watch.

One of the most popular cities in the world to shoot a movie on location is New York City. Even if only parts of the movie are filmed here, the sights and locations are so unique you recognize them instantly. These are just a few of the most well known movies with New York City used as a backdrop.

“King Kong” – One of the first movies using New York City as a backdrop. You will see King Kong scale The Empire State Building while holding Fay Wray captive. The exterior and close-up shots were filmed on location.

“Uncertainty” – This lesser known Indie film is based on a life changing decision made on The Brooklyn Bridge. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his girl friend toss a coin right in the middle of the bridge.

“Sleepless in Seattle”- In this romantic comedy you will recognize the pivotal ending scene shot at The Empire State Building.

“Night at The Museum” – In this family comedy you will spot the American Museum of Natural History and Central Park.

“Ghostbusters” – This 80s favorite incorporates many New York locations. Some are Tavern on the Green, Columbia University, the New York Public Library and The Metropolitan Opera House.
